Who are those magazine templates made for?
You will receive professional magazine templates, designed by award winning magazine designers. It is required for you or your designer to have at least beginner knowledge of Quark XPress or Adobe InDesign 1) to work with those templates. The magazine templates can be used for any professional or private publication, campus, school or inter office magazine and newsletters.
What is included?
If you choose one of the magazine template packages it should tell you what it specifically includes as every genre of magazine has different goals, therefore the designers have added different pages to each layout. You can choose from a Quark Xpress or InDesign magazine template 1) for PC or Mac after purchasing, when receiving the download links for the selected design.
Full resolution pictures are NOT included. In the magazine templates they are displayed as a low-res layout-preview and/or replaced with simple grey placeholders. The pictures on the website are simply to give you ideas what the magazine could look like. Every magazine is designed with the Font Helvetica. It’s a standard font that every computer should come with.
Each Document has its own Color Palette as shown on this sample screenshot. You can also see how the templates are all designed on master pages. At your convenience you can pull those down or use the already laid out pages.
What is not included?
- Full resolution printable photos (only low-res layout previews and/or simple grey placeholders come with the templates)
- Fonts (Free Standard fonts like Helvetica, Arial, Times New Roman will be used in the templates)
- Software to unzip the template files (e.g. "WinZIP", "WinRAR")
- Software to open the template files (see "What program do they come in")
Can I transform the magazine templates?

8.5 inch x 10.75 inch. This is a standard size to give you the best possible price at any press house.
Who are the Magazine Designers and why are they not listed on this page?

Do you do custom magazine design?
Yes. A complete custom magazine design starts at $ 40,000 and depending on difficulty can cost up to $120,000. Yes, it is that expensive! That’s why we offer you award winning design templates at an extremely low price.
Your current selection does not include a category or style, which is relevant to the magazine I want. Can I make a request for one?

No. There will be a default text entered to give you a starting point for creating your site content, but nothing linking to or referring to Magazine-Templates.com will appear on your template.
What is the "startup discount"?
Magazine-Templates.com started in early 2008, we decided to offer a discount on every item in the first few months.
I am a magazine designer, can I contribute a design for sale?
Yes, your design would be judged by our panel of designers. If it’s accepted we would add your template and you would receive 70% of the sales price. We keep 30% for hosting, advertising and other handling fees.
I can't edit the templates in InDesign!
In InDesign, all elements from a page template are locked by default.
When you have the "pages" window open, select the option to ignore all template objects (alt-shift-command-"L" shortcut). It is the single command in the third section of the context-menu (right mouse click on the page you want to edit).
If you have any questions that were not addressed in this F.A.Q.,
please feel free to email us at contact[at]magazine-templates.com
1) It is recommended that you install the most current InDesign CS2 update (Windows / Macintosh) before attempting to open InDesign CS3 interchange files (.inx) for greatest compatibility.
2) Although the templates are built on a Mac, the files can be opened in the Windows-Versions of Quark Xpress or Adobe InDesign, too. Please note that there can be a conversion and/or font replacement process when opening the files under Windows.
3) Please note that Quark XPress and Adobe InDesign templates do slightly vary from the preview pages and from each other.
